I've had this printer for about a year now and it is still running great! I use it everyday for my small business. I also use it from a digital phone line and it still faxes well. The ink for the printer is also inexpensive. I highly recommend this printer.

This doesn't tell you on the box that it will only work with an analog phone line. I figured this out after I unwrapped it, put in the ink, and set up the software. You have to read the user guide throughly to see that it says it won't work with a digital line. Other than that it's easy to use but won't recommend if you need high quality color images.

After a very bad experience with my last printer, which I ordered from Lexmark, which I would not recommend anyone ever order anything from Lexmark, this all-in-one is an absolute pleasure. It's much more than I expected for the price. It's compact, light, well made, with a full feature control pad. It's a breeze to set up and everything works exactly like it's supposed to. The software that comes with the product is exceptional. What a difference from the the last printer I only kept for one month due to the fact that it was garbage. Did I mention, don't ever order a Lexmark!!! Thank you HP. The 4315 is well worth the price paid. Nobody could match the performance of this printer at this price. It's a quality product.

If voicemail is used on the same phone line, a distinctive ring service will allow the fax machine to receive a fax before it reaches voice mail. It will also allow unanswered voice calls to go directly to voice mail instead of being intercepted by the fax.

Doesn't have a handset, so you can't answer incoming calls with it. Also, if you have an incoming call while trying to send a fax it will cut off the fax. If you have voicemail through your phone company you can't set the machine to answer faxes automatically, you have to sit by and wait to answer manually.
